Pfizer surprised Wall Street on Tuesday by predicting bigger-than-expected sales drops this year for two key products: its COVID-19 vaccine and treatment.

COVID-19 vaccine maker Moderna is suing its main competitors Pfizer and the German drugmaker BioNTech.

It’s a move that has been highly anticipated by pediatricians and many parents as coronavirus cases have risen in that age group.

Pfizer and BioNTech have officially submitted a request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Emergency Use Authorization of their COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11.

Pfizer Inc.and BioNTech announced Tuesday they have submitted data to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from the Phase 2/3 trial of their COVID-19 vaccine in children 5 to 12 years of age.

Pfizer plans to request Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA for this age group to receive the vaccine in the coming weeks.
