Community members can receive free repairs to lights, tires, and car fluids along with pet supplies, PPE and snacks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Southeast MI Pull Over Prevention is hosting another prevention clinic and mutual fair at Ypsilanti’s Masjid Ibrahim from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 13, residents can have minor repairs done during a free “Pull Over Prevention” clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Ypsilanti.

The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church House of Solutions on South Harris Road.

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen is partnering with Local 4 to host their 48th annual Support Our Capuchin Kitchen (SOCK) Fundraiser on Oct. 1. With seven programs at five locations on Detroit’s east side, the soup kitchen helps people struggling with poverty, hunger, homelessness, substance abuse and other challenges. Throughout the day, Local 4 will share with viewers the important and life-changing work that the Capuchin Soup Kitchen has done for the community. According to the group, the clinic is meant to help community members avoid traffic stops that could potentially result in serious consequences like deportation, or even death. These outcomes can be avoided by preventing the traffic stops themselves, and thats what we hoped to do with this clinic, said organizer Jonah Hahn. The new clinic was created amid a national racial crisis sparked when a Minneapolis police officer killed George Floyd, a Black man, earlier this year. A police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin shot a Black man, Jacob Blake, in the back seven times on Aug. 23, leaving him paralyzed. Officials say social distancing and public health guidelines will be followed at the clinic to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
