The findings suggest frequently testing all of the students would be necessary to keep classes on campus and the coronavirus (COVID-19) under control. In the hypothetical study, all were living on campus and none had immunity to COVID-19. Testing students every two days would cost about $470 per student, per semester. Testing every two days, even with a lower-quality test, still prevented more hypothetical infections than weekly testing with a more expensive test.
