LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – When Julie and Verdell Franklin saw their dream cottage come up for sale on Zukey Lake in Livingston County the couple knew they had to act fast. In the lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Michigan the Franklins allege that almost nothing about how the realtor was acting felt right. The lawsuit claims they were ignored, not asked basic questions and eventually told nothing would be accepted less than the listing price. The Franklins sent discrimination complaints to both the Livingston County Realtors Association and the Fair Housing Authority who said they should look into a lawsuit. Their Instagram page makes Kendall and Ronnie Roderick look like a couple straight out of the 40′s. The couple run Live Collegiate Shag, an Instagram account dedicated to showing off the dance in exciting locations all over the world. Collegiate Shag is an upbeat partner dance popular with college kids in the 1930′s. It mostly went out of fashion after the 40′s, but the Rodericks say they’re bringing it back with the channel. The pair combine dance with travel, appearing in front of amazing backdrops all over the world.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A landlord has confessed to killing a Battle Creek couple who has been missing for more than a week. Police said Chad Reed turned himself in Thursday afternoon. WOOD-TV reported that Joseph Soule, 34, and Jaclyn Lepird, 31, were last seen on Oct. 7. According to investigators, the couple lived in an apartment above Reed, who told police the incident started as an altercation. Police found the bodies of the couple in the garage of an abandoned home.
