Tropical Depression Cristobal made a rare landfall on the Great Lakes today, because 2020 is just filled with surprises. Tropical Depression Cristobal was forecasted to cross Lake Superior, the first known case of this ever happening, on Wednesday. The storm will bring stormy weather to the Upper Peninsula. Heres the latest from NWS: As the remnant Cristobal low pressure system lifts through the area today, rain this morning will come to an end. Along and east of the Garden Peninsula, waves closer to 10 feet will be possible.

Severe weather threatsAs the remnants of Cristobal move through the Great Lakes, well see scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday evening and overnight. Were under a category one severe risk Tuesday night (marginal), thats the lowest on the scale. Severe risk (WDIV)Once the overnight showers and storms exit, we'll be dry with breaks in the clouds for the remainder of Wednesday morning. DETROIT Friday will bring heat, humidity and storm chances back to Southeast Michigan before a nice weekend. Then, Tropical Storm Cristobals remnants could arrive by the middle of next week. That all sets the stage for thunderstorm chances when a cold front arrives during the second half of Thursday.
