DETROIT – It’s been a dangerous week for Detroit Police officers. Saturday was the fourth time in seven days that suspects had fired shots at officers. “It’s a very dangerous, dangerous time for police officers across this country and particularly here in the city of Detroit,” said Detroit Police Commander Darin Szilagy. “At that point, everybody inside of the vehicle opened all the doors and begin running away from the officers,” Patterson said. “The male then leaned out of the vehicle and fired shots, or led to fire shots at the officers.”He said the gunman tried to runaway and pointed his weapon at the police, who fired back but didn’t strike him.

DETROIT – A gunman who barricaded himself and his girlfriend in a home on Friday has died after he was shot by police officers. The nine-hour standoff ended Friday night after the man was shot by an officer. The 42-year-old man held his girlfriend hostage at a home on Concord Street. That’s when police said the situation escalated and the fatal shot was fired by an officer.

Metro Detroit serial murder suspect Kenyel Brown shot himself in the head during a confrontation, according to police. DETROIT – Federal and local law enforcement agencies are involved in a manhunt for Kenyel Brown. Brown is wanted in connection with at least six deaths in Metro Detroit. Marshals, officers from the Detroit Police Department, Michigan State Police, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives zeroed in on a home Sunday in Highland Park.
