DETROIT – Police are investigating a fatal shooting Sunday morning at a Detroit Coney Island restaurant. According to authorities, the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of 14th and Waverly Street, just south of Davison Street. Police said an unidentified man had an altercation with three men inside the restaurant who then left the location. DETROIT – Police are seeking a man who escaped from the back of a Detroit police vehicle after being detained on Wednesday afternoon. Detroit police say they conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for not having a license plate on Wednesday. Police then arrested the man and woman in the vehicle for carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle. Police say the man was placed into the back of a marked police vehicle while officers detained the woman outside of the vehicle. The man escaped from the back of the police vehicle and fled on foot in the area of Linwood and Davison streets.

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – No one was in immediate danger as firefighters respond to an unoccupied building engulfed in flames in Hamtramck Monday night. The concern, however, is protecting equipment for a neighboring business. The building is located on Conant Street north of Davison Street. DETROIT – Police are investigating a car crash that left two people in critical condition Saturday morning. The Hyundai was traveling west on E. Davison Street near Klinfer Street. The 28-year-old male driver of the Hyundai and a 24-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. Police say the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe initially fled the scene following the crash. DETROIT Detroit police said three people, including a 2-year-old girl, were injured in a collision Tuesday in the 2200 block of Davison Street. Police said the 2-year-old and her 22-year-old mother are listed in critical and stable condition respectively. The person, who was driving a 16-wheel semi, is also listed in critical condition. A preliminary investigation indicated the girls mother was driving an orange Dodge Charger traveling east on Davison when she collided with the semi as it traveled west. Police sources said some of Lawrence James Davis' family members live in a duplex there. Davis, 23, is charged with open murder in connection with the beating death of Tyler Jordan Wingate, 24. Lawrence James DavisPolice said Davis and Wingate were involved in a crash after 1 a.m. Monday on Livernois Avenue near West Davison Street. Officers said they found Wingate lying on the ground of the gas station parking lot in the 13500 block of Livernois Avenue.
