DETROIT – Witnesses reported two vehicles exchanging gunfire while speeding down I-96 about 10 p.m. Monday. One of them was struck by another vehicle on I-96 while trying to flee the scene of the crash on foot. The vehicles -- a Dodge Charger and a Dodge SUV -- eventually crashed along the westbound I-96 express lanes near Schaefer Highway. The third victim was in the other vehicle involved in the shooting. However, another vehicle, that was not involved in the shooting or crash, ended up fatally striking this person.

There were many more Metro Detroit residents who were in D.C., but they did not enter the Capitol Building. DETROIT – Police said a man fatally shot his girlfriend before taking his own life Tuesday night in the 14400 block of Longview Street. Police said a preliminary investigation suggests the 28-year-old man shot the 31-year-old woman about 8 p.m. Another man who was at the home was arrested on unrelated charges. Authorities are investigating a house fire on Pearson Street in the area of Joy Road and Evergreen. Sources told Local 4 four people have been taken to the hospital. WESTLAND, Mich. – A driver was killed Tuesday morning when a car crashed into the back of a semi truck on Van Born Road near Middlebelt Road in Westland. No other injuries have been reported. The road was closed during an investigation into the crash.
