DETROIT – Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision in Downtown Detroit that occurred Sunday. According to authorities, just after 5:30 p.m., a Jeep Wrangler, a Dodge Ram and a Buick collided in the intersection of Grand River and Cass avenues. Police said the driver of the Buick, a 60-year-old man, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 13-year-old boy was also rushed to a hospital, but he is expected to survive. His parents, 60-year-old David Hale and 57-year-old Deborah Hale, and the family dog all were killed in a collision Thursday night. “My parents were actually in Taylor, doing a little bit of Christmas shopping. DETROIT – Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a fatal crash that happened Sunday on the eastbound ramp from the Davison Freeway to I-75. Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle just after 5 p.m. and struck the right wall, causing the vehicle to go over the overpass and land on the Davison Freeway service drive to I-75. Police said the driver was ejected as the vehicle went off the overpass. The driver, a 25-year-old man from Detroit, was pronounced dead at the scene. The ramp from eastbound Davison Freeway to I-75 and the service drive were closed for several hours during the investigation but have since reopened.

DETROIT Kelvin Jerome Simpson II was charged Tuesday in connection to a collision that killed his 9-year-old son. According to authorities, the crash happened in the 14000 block of Minock Street at about 3 a.m. Sunday. Tuesday, Simpson was charged with second degree homicide, operating with a high blood alcohol concentration causing death, operating while intoxicated causing death, operating while license suspended causing death, operating with a high blood alcohol content causing serious injury and second degree child abuse. Court documents claim Simpson stood mute and a plea of not guilty was entered by the court. He is being held without bail and is expected to return to court Aug. 4.

PONTIAC, Mich. Police are looking for a woman wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Pontiac. Police said the driver exited the vehicle to check on the victim, but as a witness approached, she got into the vehicle and fled. Police described the driver as a Black woman believed to be driving a black or dark blue Ford Escape. ROSEVILLE, Mich. Police are investigating a fatal collision Saturday after a 67-year-old man was struck on Gratiot Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. According to authorities, police were dispatched to Gratiot Avenue, near Victor Street, just west of the I-94 on reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers found the man in the road, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver, a 22-year-old man, was taken into custody by St. Clair Shores Police. He is expected to be charged Monday with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
