The city with the largest concentration of Arab Americans in the country has elected its first Arab-American mayor, the 7th mayor in the city’s history.

Dearborn voters have elected former Michigan State Rep. Abdullah Hammoud at the city’s 7th mayor, and the first Arab-American to hold the office.

Two candidates will face off to become only the 7th mayor in Dearborn history in November.
