Detroit residents are voicing their concerns about safety and blocking traffic while trees come crashing down after severe storms.

Officials believe a tornado may have touched down Saturday (July 24) evening in Armada, one of the areas hardest hit by storms that moved through Southeast Michigan.

Residents of Wayne County who were affected by major flooding that struck the region last month can now request help with clean-up efforts.

“He told his staff that he wanted the Emergency Order done for Detroit as fast as legally possible so we can get money into the hands of our residents for reimbursements as quickly as possible,” Duggan said.

A large pile of flood debris is now perched in the parking lot at the former Hawthorne Valley Golf Course in Westland.

The storms from last weekend damaged roads, vehicles, homes and left debris all over Metro Detroit.
