Under the new restrictions, restaurants and bars can no longer offer indoor dining services until at least December 8. Carry-out and outdoor dining options are still allowed. Corktown restaurant Cork and Gabel is one of them, working to enclose their patio and ensure it is heated as winter settles in. Matthew McGrail with Cork and Gabel says the food there is one of a kind, and it’s best experienced while dining in.

When DTE was creating Beacon Park, they built a restaurant to be a part of it, but they needed someone to run it. Thats where Norm and Bonnie LePage, owners of Birmingham based Griffin Claw Beer, came in. They also have Griffin Claw Beer on draft, a wine list, and a host of signature cocktails. They offer all of their drinks to-go and you can sip them anywhere in Beacon Park.

Harpers was packed after regulations were lifted, and there are now at least 85 coronavirus cases linked to the bar. City officials are very concerned that some Detroit bars, restaurants and clubs arent following safety guidelines. What health officials discovered was that not all business owners understood the rules of capacity, masks and social distancing.

Aside from the risks of working, Byrd said when they reopen some bartenders and servers might make less money than they do right now.
