Unity Skatepark in Northville Township is near completion.

An 11,000-square-foot skatepark is all being done in memory of 20-year-old Dominic Duhn, a young man whose life was taken by a hit-and-run driver while skateboarding back in 2020.

The design of a skatepark coming to Northville Township in honor of a 20-year-old hit-and-run victim has been approved by the city’s Board of Trustees.

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 19-year-old from Westland has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run in Northville Township that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man. Gustavo Godinez Jr. is facing a felony charge that carries up to 15 years in prison. According to police, Dominic Duhn, of Northville Township, was struck and killed at about 11:37 p.m. on Sept. 3 while skateboarding on Sheldon Road, south of Six Mile Road. Officials said it was last seen traveling south on Sheldon Road from Six Mile Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact Northville Township police at 248-349-9400.
