Snow melting combined with rain has left neighborhoods across Metro Detroit a mess. In Dearborn Heights, Ecorse Creek is so high that it's spilled onto the streets.

A major construction project is set to begin soon on a stretch of Telegraph Road in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights.

A street in Dearborn Heights was turned into a river filled with floating garbage cans Friday afternoon.

“It’s ridiculous and we need to know what the city is planning on doing,” Russell said. “How they going to help us? I can’t keep buying furnaces, hot water tanks, freezers and cleaning up over and over.”

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The Southbound side of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) is closed at Outer Drive due to flooding in Allen Park. Wayne County said earlier that the Ecorse Creek has overflowed causing surface flooding on roadways. It’s unclear how long the freeway will remain closed. The freeway flooded in 2019 and was closed for days following heavy rains. North and Southbound Southfied Freeway is being closed for flooding at Outer Drive in Allen Park.
