Edwin Jackson allowed five runs in five innings, and the Tigers took control of the race for the top pick in next June's amateur draft with an 8-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. Baltimore took Oregon State catcher Adley Rutschman with the top pick this year after finishing 47-115 last season. The Rays trailed 4-1 after seven before coming back with two in the eighth and then the winning hit in the ninth. Tampa Bay pitchers set a three-game series team record by recording 49 strikeouts, including 12 on Sunday. Richards allowed two runs, eight hits and struck out six over 3 1/3 innings in his Tampa Bay debut.
