Many Metro Detroiters who ordered items weeks -- and even months -- ago are still waiting for their FedEx deliveries. Those who have had problems getting their packages claim one local FedEx facility is not able to keep up. Social media is filled with hundreds of message from people who said the items theyve ordered are being held hostage. Residents said theyve tried to get answers on what has been holding things up and were asked to leave the facility.

FedEx is partnering with AutoZone, Lowe's, Pizza Hut, Target, Walgreens and Walmart so they can help make same-day, "last-mile" deliveries to local customers. Currently, FedEx offers same-day delivery service in 32 markets and 1,900 cities using FedEx employees, but the new robot would be able to deliver to customers who live in close proximity to a FedEx store. Amazon is already testing a robot called the Amazon Scout, which looks like a cooler with six wheels. These delivery robots also can't deliver packages that need a signature, so there is that, too.
