The attorney for Michigan Rep. Jewell Jones has confirmed that Jones will plead guilty to several charges in court on Wednesday.

A Grosse Pointe man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with an armed robbery and sexual assault that happened in November 2020 in Detroit.

RIVERVIEW, Mich. – Daniel Ireland is facing 28 charges after reportedly firing on police officers who were checking on him Saturday. Police said he was not home, but they saw him driving toward the residence as they were leaving. LANSING, Mich. – An Ypsilanti man has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $100,000 from a 91-year-old man, according to the Michigan Attorney General’s office. Officials said 59-year-old Calium Turnage pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of a vulnerable adult over $100,000, which is a 20-year felony. As part of a deal, Turnage is ordered to pay $140,000 in restitution and additional charges were dropped. “The evidence clearly demonstrates that the defendant personally benefited from the victim’s vulnerable position, and in doing so violated Michigan law,” said Attorney General Dana Nessel. Turnage has been driving the 91-year-old man to various places and completing tasks for him.

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said the investigation into Michigan State University involvement with Larry Nassar is going nowhere. According to the Attorney General’s office, the investigation remains inconclusive and nearly 6,000 school documents have not been released to investigators. Nessel sent a letter to the MSU Board of Trustees Wednesday and requested access to the 6,000 documents. “You will have shut the door on the pursuit of justice,” Nessel said in the letter. Klages was convicted of lying to a police officer in the Nassar investigation and sentenced to 90 days jail.

In an attempt to speak to the man, an officer approached Moss’ front porch and rang the doorbell. Moss reportedly appeared behind the door pointing a rifle at the officer while demanding to know why they were at his home.

They believe the three taken into custody are the leaders of a ring selling cocaine laced with fentanyl that has killed three people in Warren. Terry Jamal Gaskins, 34, has been charged with conducting criminal enterprise, three counts of delivery/manufacturing fentanyl and three counts of conspiracy to deliver/manufacture fentanyl. Authorities said they’ve been distributing cocaine laced with fentanyl, cut down to make a larger profit.

DETROIT – We’re getting our first look at the man charged with murder in the death of a 7-year-old on Detroit’s east side. 19-year-old Emmet Williams Jr. faces one count of first-degree murder for firing shots into a home on Bedford Street, killing Reginae Williams. All of this is from the shooting on Oct. 28, where 7-year old Reginae Williams was shot in the head while inside the home. The other suspect connected to Reginae’s death is 22-year-old Christion Mitchell-Childress. Police are still looking for 22-year old Christion Mitchell-Childress.

DETROIT – Emmett Williams Jr., 19, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday morning in connection with a drive-by shooting that killed a 7-year-old girl. Christion Mitchell-Childress (WDIV)Williams is charged with first-degree murder, discharge of a firearm at a building causing death, discharge of a weapon from a mother vehicle causing death and felony firearm. The charges are from a fatal shooting Oct. 28 at a home on Bedford Street in Detroit, where 7-year-old Reginae Williams was shot in the head as she was inside. Police said Williams and Mitchell-Childress allegedly drove by the home and fatally shot Reginae, who died two days later Oct. 30. YPSILANTI, Mich. – A registered sex offender is accused of exposing himself to Eastern Michigan University students in Ypsilanti. Police said 37-year-old Gregory Gentles, who moved to Ypsilanti earlier this year, has been going on campus and exposing himself to students in the library and other places around the city. He was arrested after a business owner spotted him and called police. Investigators are anyone who may have been a victim to come forward. Gentles is expected to face a judge Friday on felony charges.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – Martin Dwayne Smith, a 51-year-old man from Harper Woods, was arraigned Friday afternoon in connection with a fatal hit-and-run on I-94 Monday. Zachery Morisette, a 26-year-old Macomb County Department of Roads employee, was struck and killed while replacing a manhole cover on I-94 near Nine Mile Road in Macomb County. Smith was charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault, resulting in death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident, resulting in serious impairment or death. Both are felony charges. He was given a $25,000 bond and is expected to return to court Oct. 9.

DETROIT – The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday former Michigan state Sen. Virgil Smith Jr. pleaded guilty to a felony and a misdemeanor charge. According to authorities, Smith pleaded guilty to the felony charge of malicious destruction of property over $20,000 or more, and the misdemeanor charge of reckless discharge of a firearm. Smith accused Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy of vindictive prosecution in 2019 after an earlier guilty plea was changed. RELATED: Former Michigan state Sen. The other charges Smith was arraigned on -- felonious assault, domestic violence assault and battery and felony firearm -- were dismissed as a part of the plea.

WARREN, Mich. – Felony charges have been filed in connection with a crash in Warren that killed a 10-year-old girl. The crash happened at the intersection of of 10 Mile Road and Ryan on July 25. DETROIT Devonte Andre Burton was charged Wednesday afternoon in connection with a nonfatal shooting on the Southfield Freeway Saturday. According to authorities, just before 6 p.m., officers with the Detroit Police Department and Michigan State Police responded to reports of a shooting on the Southfield Freeway. Authorities found a woman slumped over the steering wheel of their vehicle and rushed the 31-year-old Detroit woman to a hospital. She is expected to survive, due in part because of a Good Samaritan who pulled over to help. Investigation by MSP and DPD led to the apprehension of Burton, a 28-year-old man from Dearborn Heights.
