DETROIT – It’s like getting a bonus summer weekend! Highs in the 80s will stay with us through Sunday, but prepare for a big cool down next week. With high temperatures touching or topping 80 both weekend days, it will feel like we never left summer. And we continue to lose ground on the thermometer each day: highs in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by 50s for Thursday through next weekend. DETROIT Storms will roll in late tonight, giving us possible severe weather as we approach daybreak on Wednesday. Then another round of storms Friday will end our rain chances until the middle of next week. Strong Storms TonightWe're already monitoring storms on the other side of Lake Michigan which will likely hold together for several hours, bringing a severe threat to us late tonight. The strongest storms will be the first to arrive in parts of our West and North Zones. Because this will be happening while most folks are sleeping, be sure you have a way to get warnings overnight.
