In a surprise move, the Detroit News is endorsing Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. The paper admits Johnson is an extreme long shot, but says he is the candidate who most closely reflects the paper's core values, especially on the issue of trade. The Detroit News editorial staff calls Trump and Clinton quote "distasteful." Detroit News editorial page editor Nolan Finley was on Local 4 News Today at 6:30 a.m. to further explain the paper's decision.
