Joining host Tati Amare to talk more about it is Gloria Rosas Biacco, co-owner of Xochis Gift Shop in Southwest Detroit. Over the years, they have also hosted student field trips to teach kids about the Mexican Culture. Examples of what they have are traditional Nierikas, or Mexican yarn art, which is made by the Huichol people. The gift shop sells thousands of handmade items including dryer balls, wallets, glassware, wooden bowls and gift sets. (Sarah M. Parlette / WDIV)To continue offering eclectic handmade gifts to shoppers, Caravan GIft Shop built a website that has many of its items. Ahles said that customers are particular attracted to the uniqueness of the globes sold at Caravan Gift Shop. Caravan Gift Shop is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturday but video appointments can be arranged outside of those times as well.

Northern Michigan got the green light to reopen Friday, and we took a firsthand look inside a popular bar and several other businesses. Local 4s Rod Meloni checked out a popular restaurant and bar in Prudenville and some other businesses in Houghton Lake. Friday was just what the doctor ordered up north, with bright sunshine, 75-degree weather and drinks with umbrellas in them. Servers were wearing masks, but customers didnt have to, as long as they kept their six-foot distance from other groups. Houghton Lake business owners started getting the town back to Memorial Day business as best as they could.

Vaping-related illnesses have been linked to seven deaths, two in California and one each in Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Oregon. "I wish we had more answers," Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the CDC, said during a media briefing. The CDC and various state health departments have reported widespread use of products containing THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive substance within cannabis. But health officials emphasized Thursday that not all people who became ill had used THC, and many had used multiple substances.
