The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is urging bird hunters to keep an eye out for signs of bird flu (H5N1).

Three red fox kits died from the very contagious bird flu (HPAI). This is the first time a wild mammal in Michigan has been confirmed to have avian influenza (HPAI).

Michigan Department of Natural Resources recommends that bird lovers temporarily remove their bird feeders.

HPAI continues to spread within Washtenaw County bird populations and around Michigan.
