The Henry Ford shared some unique exhibits commemorating Black History Month

The work of American icon Jim Henson -- the mind behind “Sesame Street,” “The Muppet Show,” “Labyrinth,” “Fraggle Rock,” “The Dark Crystal” and more -- will be on display at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

A traveling exhibit on the legendary puppeteer Jim Henson is coming to Michigan next month.

DEARBORN Dearborns historical Henry Ford Museum is experiencing financial woes due to the coronavirus pandemic. In March when the first coronavirus cases in Michigan were announced the museum temporarily closed. The museum previously canceled its 2020 Summer Camps and announced temporary layoffs in April in response to the pandemic. The Henry Ford in Dearborn has just opened a new exhibit on the Marvel Universe and comic book history. He said on the way here today, its gonna be the best day of his life, father Avery Kobatch said. The exhibit offers 80 years of Marvel history, including things like original artwork, movie set designs and academy award winning costumes. Everyone who visits the exhibit is expected to wear a mask and there are sanitizing stations available. The Henry Ford recommends buying tickets online before visiting because of the capacity restrictions.

Officials say a new task force has been established to develop a phased reopening plan for the museum that focuses on protecting public health and safety.
