PONTIAC, Mich. – A Pontiac-based nonprofit is experiencing a shortage of winter clothing and needs donations to help homeless people in Metro Detroit. Grace Centers of Hope is asking for donations of gently used winter clothing, such as coats, hats, scarves and gloves. The clothing will be distributed to homeless people, and any remaining items will go to one of the nonprofit’s four thrift stores. Donations can be dropped off to Grace Centers of Hope at 35 E. ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Hope Clinic has announced that it will start serving additional hot meals to those in need during the week. In a statement released by Hope Clinic, the fully prepared hot meals were introduced in early October so as to address a gap in community services. The additional meals will run through mid-January of 2020 as Hope Clinic reassess community needs. A group of best friends turned into junior detectives when police outside Sacramento, California, asked for help locating a missing 97-year-old woman. Logan, Hope, her brother Kash and McKenna banded together to find the woman, taking to the streets on their bikes, they told Inside Edition. The woman told them to go away, they said, but they weren't deterred, alerting others to their discovery. As it turns out, they were the team to locate the missing 97-year-old, Roseville police wrote on its Facebook page.
