Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice have joined forces to help young adults in their 20s and 30s cope with grief through its online support group Living On For Young Adults. Run by trained, experienced grief counselors the program aims to address grief in a time when life during a pandemic can make it difficult to cope. Read full article: Michigan organizations seek military uniforms, stories of service for Veterans Week eventsROCHESTER, Mich. – Hospice of Michigan (HOM) is partnering with Older Persons' Commission (OPC) and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital (APR) for a series of Veterans Week events that will be held in November. They are seeking submissions of military uniforms and stories of service for the event. The events will include veterans' tributes, memorial pinnings, military flag and uniform displays, and a virtual celebration. The military uniforms will be displayed at Ascension Providence Rochester on Nov. 10. Stories of service will be highlighted during the OPC’s veterans virtual celebration on Nov. 12.

Ann Arbor-based Arbor Hospice and Hospice of Michigan are working together to offer this years Camp Good Grief online for free on Aug.15. Attendees at Virtual Camp Good Grief will have a chance to address their feelings, participate in grief education and emotional support activities, and interact with others going through similar experiences. Prior to Virtual Camp Good Grief, an education session for parents and guardians will be provided about the virtual format and about what children can expect during the camp. Arbor Hospice and Hospice of Michigan are both members of NorthStar Care Community and provide palliative care, emotional support services and pediatric hospice care among many other services.
