DETROIT – A 14-year-old was injured in a shooting Friday on Detroit’s east side. The shooting happened on Houston Whittier Street. Police believe the shooting may be connected to a fight that happened earlier in the day. The teen is in critical condition. One person has been taken into custody.

DETROIT – Detroit police said a 26-year-old man walking his dog was injured in a shooting in the area of Houston Whittier Street and Kelly Road Sunday evening. Police said the victim was walking in a park at about 5:40 p.m. when an unknown individual fired multiple shots. The victim was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. DETROIT – Officials have identified the woman who was found dead early Tuesday in a bullet-riddled vehicle on Detroit’s east side. Vanita Denise Gray, 52, was shot multiple times at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Hayes and Houston Whitter streets, according to authorities. She was found near Al’s Furniture, which was heavily damaged by bullets. A man was taken into custody, officials said.
