Road improvements to close several Ann Arbor streets through May
ANN ARBOR, Mich. โ Drivers in downtown Ann Arbor will have to find alternative routes as scheduled road work around North and South Ashley streets will close several streets over the next few months. Ashley Street from Liberty to Huron: March 8 to May 31On Monday, South Ashley Street was reduced to one lane from just south of Liberty Street to Huron Street. Ashley Street at Washington Street: March 8 to March 20Both Ashley and Washington streets leading up to the Ashley and Washington intersection are closed, according to the city. Westbound traffic will travel south on First Street, west on North Street and then south on First Street. Ashley Street from Liberty to Washington: March 11 to March 20AdBeginning at 7 a.m. on March 11, Ashley Street will close from Liberty to Washington Street.
Oakland County deputies search for missing 22-year-old man who ran from hospital transport
PONTIAC, Mich. โ Oakland County deputies are searching for a missing 22-year-old man who freed himself from restraints and fled an ambulance while being transported between hospitals, officials said. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office said Kelly was being transported from Ascension Hospital in Southfield to Pontiac General Hospital in an ambulance. During the transport, Kelly freed himself form restraints and fled south on Seminole Street, officials said. He was under clinical petition by the Oakland County Probate Court for mental health issues at the time of his escape, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office at 248-858-4911 or call 911.
Man arrested on unrelated warrants accused of involvement with fatal Pontiac shooting
PONTIAC, Mich. โ A 30-year-old man taken into custody on an unrelated warrant is accused of being involved in a fatal shooting at a Metro Detroit Coney Island restaurant. According to authorities, just before 10 a.m. Jan. 13, Oakland County Sheriffโs deputies were dispatched to DโAntonโs Coney Island, located on West Huron Street, between Telegraph Road and Woodward Avenue, on reports of a dead body. Original Story: 26-year-old man found dead in Pontiac coney island parking lot, deputies sayPolice said a friend of the dead man reported that he and the victimโs family were unable to find him, searched the area and found his body in a vehicle near the Coney Island restaurant. According to the Oakland County Sheriffโs Office, Bryan Maurice Wilson AKA: Anthony Randolph Wilson, was connected with the shooting. He was taken into police custody on unrelated warrants and remains at the Oakland County Jail.
I-94 in Ypsilanti reopens after traffic incident causes closure
YSPILANTI, Mich. โ The collision on eastbound I-94 in Ypsilanti has been cleared, authorities said. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area of eastbound I-94 near Huron Street due to a traffic incident. The Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office announced at 3:52 p.m. Saturday that all lanes are closed due to a traffic incident that occurred in the area. New road closures to start in Ann Arbor Monday, will continue through November
ANN ARBOR, Mich. โ Starting Monday, numerous road closures will begin impacting traffic around Ann Arbor and will continue through November. Closures include the intersection on Miller Avenue and First Street, and parts of West Madison Street, South Fifth Avenue, Holl Street, South Division Street and East Hoover Avenue. To avoid the intersection, westbound Miller Avenue traffic will be detoured to Main Street then westbound on Huron Street to Seventh Street and back to Miller Avenue. Traffic heading east will experience the reverse by being detoured to Seventh Street, eastbound on Huron Street to Main Street and then back to Miller Avenue. Construction closures on West Madison Street, South Fifth Avenue, Holl Street, South Division Street and East Hoover Avenue are scheduled to be closed through 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.
Intersection of Miller Avenue and First Street in Ann Arbor to close for construction
From Tuesday to Thursday, the section of Miller Avenue intersecting with First Street will be closed due to construction. The construction is part of the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authoritys First and Ashley Improvements Project. Westbound traffic will be detoured southbound on Main Street to westbound on Huron Street to northbound on Seventh Street to Miller Avenue. Eastbound traffic will be detoured southbound on Seventh Street to eastbound on Huron Street to northbound on Main Street to Miller Avenue. Local traffic will be maintained between Seventh Street and First Street and between First Street and Main Street.

Missing Ypsilanti boy could be in danger, police say
YPSILANTI, Mich. - A boy from Ypsilanti is missing and state police believe he could be in danger. Darious Ross, 11, was last seen in the 200 block of West Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti on Friday evening. His father said he was supposed to come home last night, but never showed up. Ross is described as biracial, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 90 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a white and black shirt, blue gym shorts and black and white shoes.
