Fifteen young women from around the United States have been recognized by the White House for their advocacy on a range of issues to improve their communities.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Run, walk, jump or skip your way to a 5K and support girls in Washtenaw County. In honor of International Day of the Girl on Oct. 11, Girls on the Run of Southeastern Michigan is hosting a virtual 5K to raise funds for its programs to help girls around Southeast Michigan. Money raised through the virtual 5K goes towards scholarships for girls that want to take part in Girls on the Run’s afterschool programs. With only 33% of the nation's state judges female, Judge Barbie is meant to inspire young girls to aspire for the profession and perhaps increase the number of female judges in the future. I think we under estimate the impact of our young girls seeing images of girls and women depicted in a variety of professions and activities often only depicted by men. Today, the fashion line has hundreds of thousands in sales and inspired thousands of young girls across the country. And keeping in this theme the Wednesday morning Rhonda's Brag Book honorees will highlight the accomplishments of 2 outstanding local young girls.
