DETROIT – Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Monday at a construction zone on westbound Interstate 94 in Detroit near Van Dyke Avenue. Officials said the driver in a Dodge Challenger was believed to be traveling more than 100 miles per hour before hitting a Chevy Malibu and a utility pole, landing upside down. MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A man suspected of stabbing another man was arrested after leading police on a chase on Interstate 94. The incident on Tuesday began in Clinton Township on North Avenue. Police said the man is believed to have stabbed a man multiple times. He was later spotted on 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township on and tried to outrun police. A video of the chase obtained by Local 4 showed the man swerving on the shoulder of I-94.

DETROIT – Michigan State Police said speed and alcohol were factors in a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead on eastbound Interstate 94 in Detroit. That’s not tragic, that’s stupidity,” said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. DETROIT – Police have been searching for a murder suspect following a high-speed chase on Interstate 94. Police said the suspect is connected to a deadly shooting in Romulus. YPSILANTI, Mich. – Construction workers are asking for something to change after two of their own were killed on the job in Ypsilanti earlier this month. On smaller projects, like patch work, there’s usually just barrels separating workers, who are spread out for miles. We all have to work together to make change,” Crowl said. DETROIT – Four children, between ages 4 and 14, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night on westbound Interstate 94 at Cadieux Road. Michigan State Police was dispatched at about 8:20 p.m., according to a series of tweets from the department. A preliminary investigation indicated that two vehicles were attempting to exit at Cadieux Road at the same time. MSP said one of the vehicles blocked the left lane of westbound I-94. According to MSP, a 6-year-old was seriously injuries, a 4-year-old is in temporary serious condition, and a 9-year-old and 14-year-old are both in stable condition.

LANSING, Mich. – The family of a Lansing man who was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver in Ypsilanti Township gathered on Tuesday to honor him. Twenty-three-year-old Davyon Rose was one of two construction workers killed on Saturday on Interstate 94. The other man killed, Nicholas Andres Sada, was Rose’s longtime friend. YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Charges have been filed against a 29-year-old driver in a crash that killed two construction works in Ypsilanti Township. Ryann Musselman, of Belleville, is charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated causing death. A vehicle driven by Musselman hit both of the workers in the area. The crash happened at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 eastbound near Harris Road. JACKSON, Mich. – Three Corrections Department officers who were killed on duty, including one in 1893, have been honored with memorial signs along Interstate 94 in Jackson County. “To me, it's a bittersweet day,” Paul Ajegba, director of the Transportation Department, said at an event Monday. But it's sweet in the sense that we're recognizing their service to the state of Michigan.”George Haight, a veteran of the Civil War, died in 1893. ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – Michigan State Police are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 94 that killed a 26-year-old construction worker. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. in St. Clair Shores. Macomb County Department of Roads crew was putting down a patch to fix a broken manhole cover. The eastbound lanes were shut down for three-plus hours as MSP investigated the scene at Nine Mile Road. HARPER WOODS, Mich. From June 15 to July 29, Michigan State Police reported 15 felonious assaults -- non-fatal shootings and homicides -- on Metro Detroit freeways. Since then, five more freeways were reported, including a shooting that ended in Harper Woods Wednesday and left one man seriously injured. A red Pontiac G6 came to a stop at the intersection of Roscommon Street and Peerless Avenue in Harper Woods, riddleed with bullets. I looked and I saw the smoke from the tires, Harper Woods resident Larry Duren. There is no motive yet determined, and it is unknown if the men in the red vehicle knew anyone in the other vehicle.

DETROIT Michigan State Police arrested a driver who was in a stolen vehicle in Detroit Sunday in the area of Interstate 94 and Van Dyke Road. Two other passengers in the stolen vehicle fled the scene, officials said. Police said a gun reported stolen was located in the vehicle. Michigan State Police arrested a driver in a stolen vehicle in Detroit on Sept. 6, 2020. A handgun reported stolen was also located in the vehicle.

A 37-year-old Mount Clemens man suspected of shoplifting at a Target on Gratiot Avenue and 23 Mile Road Chesterfield Township was arrested after he led police on a vehicle chase Tuesday evening. Chesterfield Township police were called to the store at about 6:24 p.m. after store personnel reported that the suspect had stolen electronic equipment. He was located going west toward I-94 at 23 Mile Road, leading to the chase that was captured on police dashcam video. A suspected shoplifter was arrested Tuesday, July 28, 2019, after leading police on a vehicle chase in Chesterfield Township. DETROIT A section of I-94 will be closed in both directions through the weekend due to road work. Both directions of I-94 between I-75 and Gratiot Avenue will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. on Monday. During the closure westbound I-94 traffic will detour to southbound Gratiot Avenue, the westbound Gratiot Connector and then northbound I-75 back to westbound I-94. All westbound I-94 entrance ramps between Chalmers Street and Chene Street will close at 7 p.m. Friday and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. Officials say eastbound I-94 traffic will detour to southbound I-75, the eastbound Gratiot Connector and then northbound Gratiot Avenue back to I-94.

Weekend road repairs will close lanes on I-94 between Detroit and New Haven. Eastbound I-94 will be closed between Gratiot Avenue in Detroit and I-696 for weekend road repairs. During the closure, the detour for I-94 follows northbound Gratiot Avenue to eastbound I-696 and then back to eastbound I-94. MDOT says Eastbound I-94 will also close multiple lanes from Little Mack Avenue to 14 Mile Road for resurfacing. Only one lane will be open on eastbound I-94 between 21 Mile Road and New Haven Road from 4 a.m. Saturday to 5:30 p.m. Sunday for road maintenance, MDOT says.

BRIDGMAN, Mich. – Michigan State Police say a trooper was injured when a suspect’s car struck the officer as the driver sped away from a traffic stop. The suspect’s vehicle continued east on I-94 in southwestern Michigan, with police in pursuit, before exiting in Bridgman and getting onto westbound lanes of I-94. Police say the Jeep Cherokee then struck a tractor-trailer and rolled before striking a second tractor-trailer. The Jeep Cherokee’s driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, fleeing and eluding police and resisting/obstructing police. Police say the driver and three passengers are all from the Chicago area.
