According to the city, cars traveling westbound on Jefferson Street will be detoured north on Ashley Street, east on William Street, and south on First Street. Cars traveling eastbound will be detoured south on First Street, east on Madison Street, and north on Ashley. Property owners on Jefferson located in the work zone will be able to access the road throughout the project. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained by the contractor during the project, but some detours may be implemented depending on project developments.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured the drive-by shooting at a home on Jefferson Street near South Hamilton Street. Shots were fired from a white Ford Fusion at about 6:30 p.m.Jennifer Jones said the target was her 19-year-old son. "I think they are trying to kill my son," Jones said. Jones' said the people in the car are between the ages of 15 and 18 and are high school students in Ypsilanti.
