A sheriff’s deputy was fatally shot during a traffic stop Thursday -- the second in the state to be killed in the line of duty in less than a week.

Michigan State Police said they instructed Eric Michael Fiddler to surrender, but he produced a gun and started shooting, causing Troopers to return fire and killing him at the scene.

Michigan State Police have located the man who hospitalized a Hillsdale County deputy during a shooting after an hours-long manhunt.

A Hillsdale County deputy has been shot and transported to a hospital. The suspect is still at large.
