We took the threat seriously, and were investigating, Officer Angela Bennett, a spokeswoman for the Huntington Beach Police Department, told the Times. The FBI and U.S. Army also issued internal warnings about possible threats related to the movie. In 2012, a gunman killed 12 people after opening fire during a screening of the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
