The event has been held in Downtown Detroit for the past 16 years. The coronavirus pandemic has led to many events being canceled or postponed. Winter Blast is focusing on programming for 2022. “The health and safety of our guests, sponsors and stakeholders is our top priority and we hope for positive developments in treatments or a vaccine that will hopefully allow larger special events to happen later in 2021,” Witz said.

The Arts, Beats and Eats Festival in Royal Oak may have been canceled because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but organizers are still working to help local artists. A Go Fund Me campaign has launched to support musicians, with Oakland County planning to match every dollar raised. But you cant take t-shirts back, cant take CDs back, so were kind of tied up, said Pauly Brady with Stone Clover Band. The Stone Clover Band will be performing and raising money to help out with costs and bills that have been piling up. Theyre also doing art shows by appointment and sending food trucks into Oakland County neighborhoods.

Metro Detroits annual Arts, Beats & Eats festival has been canceled this year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, officials announced Wednesday. The Royal Oak festival reoccurs every Labor Day weekend, featuring exactly what its named for -- art for sale, live music and food vendors. The Beats Go on initiative will host virtual concerts in addition to live drive-in concerts in an effort to raise $500,000 for local musicians. Between Sept. 4-7 a series of live, limited-occupancy drive-in concerts will be held in Downtown Royal Oak.
