Slowing down drivers is what’s happening outside Roseville Middle School, where Julia Wallace was hit in the crosswalk while walking to school. Roseville Police Chief Ryan Monroe says that a significant safety change has been implemented.

The driver who struck a Roseville Middle School student last week was taking a detour past the school because police closed down a section of nearby Groesbeck Highway where a district employee was shot by officers for wielding a knife, officials said.

A woman with no connection to Roseville students is volunteering her time ensuring kids are crossing Martin Road safely.
