Kentucky has hired BYU’s Mark Pope as men’s basketball coach, bringing home a captain of the Wildcats’ 1996 national championship team to succeed John Calipari.

The No. 14-ranked Oakland Golden Grizzlies get their first win ever in the round of 64 after pulling off the ultimate upset by taking down the No. 3-ranked Kentucky Wildcats 80-76 to advance to the round of 32.

Aaron Bradshaw hit a 3-pointer with 1:27 to play and No. 6 Kentucky rallied to beat Florida 87-85 on Saturday in the first Southeastern Conference opener between the rivals in 26 years.

The Kentucky Wildcats no longer preside quite so comfortably over the Southeastern Conference, which is harder to do these days.

The Michigan Wolverines have suffered an enormous blow to their starting lineup as starting point guard Jaelin Llewellyn has sustained an ACL injury to his left knee and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
