AUBURN, Ind. – A Michigan couple and an Indiana man have been identified as the three people killed in a seven-vehicle pileup on a northeastern Indiana highway, police said Thursday. William Charles Heil, 65, of Angola, was pronounced dead at the scene after his car was pushed into the rear of a second semitrailer, police said. The crash that also involved three other passenger vehicles occurred about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on northbound Interstate 69, about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) north of the Auburn exit, police said. Auburn is north of Fort Wayne and south of the state line with Michigan.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren announced the suspensions at a news conference amid outrage that city officials had previously kept quiet about Prude's death. Journalists were among those hit by pellets during the confrontation, which came on the second day of peaceful demonstrations over Prude's death. The mayor said she only became aware that Prude's death involved the use of force on Aug. 4. Prude's death happened just as the coronavirus was raging out of control in New York and received no public attention at the time.

WESTLAND, Mich. – A driver was killed Tuesday morning when a car crashed into the back of a semi truck on Van Born Road near Middlebelt Road in Westland. No other injuries have been reported. The road was closed during an investigation into the crash.

DETROIT Police are questioning two men about a house fire early Wednesday morning on Detroits east side. Neighbors were startled out of their sleep to the sounds of a house explosion. Police say the suspects were arrested on unrelated warrants but theyre still being questioned. Neighbors claim to have heard gunshots before the explosion and saw a person fleeing the scene after the explosion. Police said the next step is identifying the bodies and finding out how they died before they can potentially press charges on the men taken into custody.
