Two people died and eight were injured in a shooting that took place at a bar in Lancaster, South Carolina, according to Lancaster Sheriff's Office. The shooting happened at the Ole Skool sports bar just outside the city of Lancaster around 2:45 a.m. ET, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said. Many people were in the bar when the shooting happened, sheriff's office spokesman Doug Barfield said. A separate person was injured by falling at the bar; that person was treated at a medical facility and released, the sheriff's office said.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy could be fired and charged after making up an attack, calling in on his radio that he has been shot by a sniper, police said. LANCASTER, Calif. - A deputy was wounded Wednesday when a possible sniper took aim at the Lancaster station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, authorities said. The bullet came from a four-story building and hit the deputy in the chest while he was in the parking lot, Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris said. "It's a difficult tactical situation," Parris said. Lancaster city has a population of about 170,000 and is an hour north of Los Angeles.
