There are 20 days until Christmas and the countdown is officially on. Jason Hall, with RiDetroit, Lauren Crocker, co-host of The Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 WDVD, and Mimi Brown, a local author and motivational speaker, joined Tati Amare on “Live in the D” to discuss holiday festivities.

Summer is officially here so for "What's The Buzz' we're talking about how to get the most out of a Michigan summer.

Now is the time that you’re likely seeing gardens being planted throughout your neighborhood, and lawns are lush and green. However, not everyone feels the same about their curb appeal.

You may not be the only one dreaming up your next big vacation after COVID. Industry insiders say there will be a huge boom in spending for vacations, in a trend they call “revenge travel.” Tati called on friends of the show Lauren Crocker, Jason Hall, and AJ Williams to find out what their next big travel plans will be.

It looks like the snow might be gone for good, which means it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning. Often the biggest question about spring cleaning is where to start. For Crocker, cleaning out the closet is the best place to start, since clearing out space means she’ll get to revamp her wardrobe for the season. Cleaning out space in the spring also means making room for new tech. Hall said that for him the change in season means a new bike and new stuff for the car.

First, Mimi talked about her inspiration, Maya Angelou. “I always think about her when I think about powerful women in history.”Next, everyone talked about their favorite women in film. Jason and Mimi both talked about Cicely Tyson, who stayed true to herself by only taking roles in films that highlighted African American women. AdFinally, Tati asked about the women in the music industry that inspire everyone. Mimi picked Aretha Franklin, an icon who’s music transcends audiences, and who has performed at multiple presidential inaugurations.

AdFinally, do you watch the award shows? Hearn says she turns on the award shows to see the fashion. Now Russell, as a movie reviewer, Greg does follow the award shows and says sometimes they get it right, and other times not so much. He noted that often, whatever gets named in the first award show often gets mentions in all the following award shows, and that is not always for the best. So why do you watch award shows?

2020 is finally coming to an end and most people are probably excited about it. Some people experienced a lot of personal growth while others just enjoyed being with their family. Jason Carr chatted with Mimi Brown, a local author and motivational speaker, Lauren Crocker from the Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 FM, and Mike Bonner, local comedian and car salesman, about what to expect for the new year, how to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and new technology addictions. With the number of COVID cases on the rise, many people are trying to figure out how they want to celebrate Halloween this year. So the first topic: How are you going to celebrate this year? Lauren said she is going to do socially-distant trick-or-treating with the help of a candy chute. Her husband Michael is building the chute so they can safely send candy down to the kiddos. Jason’s recommendation is to turn off all the lights and stay away from the windows so people know you’re not participating.

October is National Pizza Month! You may want to try some new toppings or order from your favorite pizzeria. Comedian Mike Bonner, Lauren Crocker from the Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 FM WDVD, and comedian Melanie Hearn chatted with host Jason Carr about the great pizza debates: Does pineapple belong on Pizza? How do you classify a flatbread versus a pizza? Are you a fan of cold pizza?

That time of year has officially come: Tomorrow is the first day of fall! We have all been feeling it for a while, with the cooler weather we have been experiencing as of late, including our friends of the show. Comedian Melanie Hearn, Jason Hall of RiDetroit, and Lauren Crocker of The Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 WDVD, joined Jason Carr to break down the upcoming season and take their stance on the ultimate fall debates: Should the season be called fall or autumn? Finally, when does fall actually end? Check out their answers in the video above.

Please, thank you, and youre welcome are all things you say when you are being courteous to one another, and September just happens to be National Courtesy Month. Mimi agreed with Lauren and said courtesy could be upped in stores as well. Lauren talked about how easy it was to do something small, like a wave, when someone does something nice for you on the road. Giving the servers grace and just being kinder, in general, is something that goes a long way, said both Lauren and Mimi. Not only is important to say the right things, but to use the right tone, and acknowledge people with other non-verbal cues, like eye contact, or a nod.

So we wanted to see if they were doing these common quarantine activities. Did you have a quarantine project? Do you have quarantine project pride or envy? AJ Williams has gotten really into plant care and says she is referred to as the plant lady now. Jason Hall says hes very proud of all his projects and has started getting more into social media.

Working home from home has its unique challenges and that is something Blaine Fowler, host of The Blaine Fowler Morning Show" on 96.3 WDVD, can personally attest to. He and his co-host Lauren Crocker have been putting out a live show every morning from their respective homes. Blaine told Tati Amare and Jason Carr all about the challenges he has been facing while giving a glimpse of his at-home studio. He also shared what it is like having his family members become his new co-workers and gave us look at the family thats moved into his backyard. What's the Buzz today is all about FOMO (fear of missing out) and JOMO (joy of missing out). Lauren and AJ both said they had JOMO while Jason said FOMO. The answers were reversed this time for the panelists with AJ and Lauren saying they had FOMO and Jason saying he has JOMO. Finally: Do you have a fear of missing out on summer fun? The panelists were unanimous saying they for sure had FOMO for summer fun.

We are smack dab in the middle of summer and about to celebrate the 4th of July. First topic was neighborhood fireworks. Most of the panel agreed that fireworks are ok, as long as they end the week of the 4th of July. Lauren said she does not care for fireworks in her neighborhood because of what it does to her pets. Finally, We asked our viewers which one they prefer, hot dogs or hamburgers on the 4th of July?
