Michigan State Police Troopers are conducting an evidence search related to a felonious assault that has shut down the southbound lanes of the John C Lodge Freeway at Linwood.

A Detroit police officer was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being shot in the hand.

Police are looking for the family of a 7-year-old boy seen wandering in Detroit.

Close to collapsing is a two-story building leaning over a Detroit sidewalk, and the city is promising to take action.

Everything from old tires to abandoned boats has been dumped at the Linwood and Doris streets site, not too far from the Lodge and the Davison freeways.

Police are seeking information about a 28-year-old man who went missing in Detroit.

A 16-year-old boy was killed near Linwood and West Grand Boulevard while walking to a Detroit gas station with a group of teens at around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, police confirmed.

DETROIT – Two people were shot on southbound M-10 and Linwood Saturday around 2:40 a.m. after attending a Detroit party, police say. When officers arrived to the area after a traffic crash was reported they found a vehicle with several bullet holes. Police later discovered both the victims had checked into Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. According to police after the party the two victims were driving in the area when an unknown car pulled up and someone inside started shooting at them. The victims lost control of their vehicle and struck the wall.

DETROIT – One person was fatally shot and another injured in a shooting that happened on Detroit’s west side Monday afternoon, according to police. There was heavy police presence in front of the Linwood Discount Liquor store after the shooting. He died at the scene of the shooting after being shot multiple times. Police say shortly before the shooting the two men were seen with another man standing in front of the liquor store. The shooter is described as a Black man, 6 feet tall and slim with dreadlocks.

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Eastpointe. The shooting happened outside of a home on Linwood Avenue, near Gratiot Avenue. “At the beginning of the pandemic he got infected, died weeks later,” Iaquinta said. At 7:45 p.m. on Monday Iaquinta was on his porch and said he witnessed a vicious domestic argument between a 24-year-old man and a woman. A 24-year-old man standing on the porch was shot in the chest and died.

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A man riding a motorcycle was struck and killed by gunfire in a drive-by shooting in Eastpointe on Monday evening. Police said the man was shot around 7:30 p.m. on Linwood Avenue near 9 Mile Road when someone opened fire from an SUV and then sped away from the scene. The motorcyclist was hit in his upper torso and then rushed to a hospital. He did not survive. READ: More local crime reports

DETROIT Detroit police say a man was found wounded at 11:38 p.m. Friday in the area of Elmhurst and Linwood inside a gray 2008 Chevy Aveo. The victim was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. Police say the cause of death has not been determined. DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for the shooter after a man was shot Friday night on Detroit’s west side. A 38-year-old man told police he was driving in the area of Linwood and Hazelwood streets at about 7:25 p.m. when a man ran up to his car, opened the driver’s side door and shot him. The victim drove to a different area, where he was then transported to a hospital. Police said the shooter is described as a black man with braids. (CNN) - New Zealand's prison authority has acknowledged it made a mistake in allowing the alleged Christchurch mosque attacker to send a letter, which then surfaced on 4chan, an online message board known for hosting the views of white supremacists. "I have no concern about myself and I only worry for Europe's future," Tarrant wrote. The letter was sent to an address in Russia, a country which Tarrant also wrote at length about, before it was posted to 4chan. "We have made changes to the management of this prisoner's mail to ensure that our robust processes are as effective as we need them to be." Tarrant is accused of carrying out the March 15 attacks on two Christchurch mosques, in which 51 people were killed.
