Officials say cybercriminals hacked into the Kansas court system, stole sensitive data and threatened to post it on the dark web in a ransomware attack that has hobbled access to records for more than five weeks.

Kansas officials are calling a massive computer outage that’s kept most of the state’s courts offline for two weeks a “security incident.”.

A clearer picture is emerging of some of the dozens of victims killed by tornadoes that ripped through five states in the Midwest and South.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – The year is starting with the cancellation of a popular spring marathon in the Traverse City area. Organizers said the Bayshore Marathon, scheduled for May 29, will be held only in a virtual format. “We did not want to take any registrations knowing that we had plans in place to cancel,” said Lisa Taylor, director of the Traverse City Track Club. The 2020 race was also canceled. Runners who signed up for the 2020 race can again roll their registration to 2022 or run the virtual race.
