A gay couple in Metro Detroit is hammering out hate and breaking barriers in the construction industry.

A woman driving an SUV struck and killed a man who was crossing a Rochester Hills street in a crosswalk, police said.

A 22-year-old man who initially refused to stop for Troy police eventually gave them a fake name, sped away, drove around his complex, got out and was arrested, officers said.

Pipeline maintenance is closing part of Livernois Road in Rochester Hills for just over two weeks.

During a bizarre call to a Troy hotel, officers said they learned about a slew of potential crimes committed by the people inside one of the rooms -- including kidnapping, drug use, mail theft, identity theft, lying several times to officers and kicking out the window of a police car.

TROY, Mich. – Police are looking for two suspects believed to have fired shots into a Troy hotel room early Saturday morning. Troy police say that at about 4 a.m. Saturday, five shots were fired through a sliding glass door and into a hotel room at the Hawthorn Suites. At that time, there were four teenagers from Roseville and Detroit celebrating a sweet 16 birthday party inside the room, police said. Police say two suspects were seen running from the scene of the shooting. They are described as Black males between the ages of 18 and 22 years old with medium heights and medium builds.

Troy police made seven impaired driving arrests over the final 10 days of November. Four women and three men from all around Metro Detroit were involved.

DETROIT – Some northbound and southbound lanes on I-75 will close this week in Detroit for road work and repairs. Three southbound lanes will be closed on I-75 between Davison Freeway and I-94 beginning 8 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday. MDOT crews will be working on the Milwaukee Avenue overpass, weather permitting. The right lane of northbound I-75 will be closed at Livernois Road from 9 a.m. to noon and at Coolidge Highway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. MDOT crews will be repairing guardrails, weather permitting.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Oakland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a home invasion and assault in which the suspected intruder was found dead in the home. Sources said the home invasion and assault happened early Monday morning in the area of Walton Boulevard and Livernois Road. The intruder assaulted the resident and appeared to have cut himself inside the home, which is believed to have led to his death.
