Troy police say that at about 4 a.m. Saturday, five shots were fired through a sliding glass door and into a hotel room at the Hawthorn Suites. At that time, there were four teenagers from Roseville and Detroit celebrating a sweet 16 birthday party inside the room, police said. Police say two suspects were seen running from the scene of the shooting. They are described as Black males between the ages of 18 and 22 years old with medium heights and medium builds.

Three southbound lanes will be closed on I-75 between Davison Freeway and I-94 beginning 8 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday. MDOT crews will be working on the Milwaukee Avenue overpass, weather permitting. The right lane of northbound I-75 will be closed at Livernois Road from 9 a.m. to noon and at Coolidge Highway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. MDOT crews will be repairing guardrails, weather permitting.

Sources said the home invasion and assault happened early Monday morning in the area of Walton Boulevard and Livernois Road. The intruder assaulted the resident and appeared to have cut himself inside the home, which is believed to have led to his death.
