As people spent more time at home after the pandemic began, many opted to adopt puppies and dogs. Spending so much time together at home has been great, but now, pet owners are preparing to go back to work or on vacation.

DETROIT – The pandemic has wreaked havoc on so many small businesses, but with the vaccines available now there is light at the end of the tunnel. Business-owner Liz Blondy has an idea for everyone to get back to business. The dog grooming, day care and boarding business in Detroit was lucky to stay open during the pandemic. Finally, each employee will get $100 if everyone on in the Detroit and Ferndale locations get vaccinated.

Liz Blondy, the owner of Canine To Five, said if dog owners don’t take real, deliberate steps now, dogs are going to struggle when their humans go back to work. There are specific ways new pandemic puppy owners should be working to keep their dogs from falling into the trap. “Not letting your dog be with you all the time.”Also, it’s important to take dogs out of the house. “Dogs that aren’t exposed to many things are afraid of many things,” Blondy said. “Socialize your dog to things in your own home,” Blondy said.
