First up in Macomb County, The Macomb Ballet Company will present their annual Nutcracker Performance. It’s the company’s 21st year for the production, and the biggest one yet. There will be a new set design and debut of a new character, “Queen of the Mice.” Performances will take place Friday-Sunday at The Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.

Today, the Ann Arbor Art Center quietly reopened its doors after being closed to the public since March due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Those visiting the downtown art hub will be allowed in the 117 Gallery Shop on the first floor of the building between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. However, visitors will notice changes the art center has implemented, which are intended to keep staff and patrons safe. The Guild of Artists & Artisans in Ann Arbor is hosting a Bob Ross inspired art competition for its members. Until Friday, artists and artisans of The Guild can submit Happy Little Videos of themselves making art in the spirit of Bob Ross for the competition. From May 27 to June 3, community members will be able to watch and vote for their favorite videos through The Guild Facebook page. The Virtual Art series can be found on The Guild Facebook page. The nonprofit artisan guild is known for its annual Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, which was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 crisis.
