DETROIT – A 25-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning when his vehicle crashed on the southbound side of the Lodge Freeway (M-10) at the Wyoming Avenue exit ramp. Michigan State Police said troopers were dispatched about 2:55 a.m. Thursday to the Wyoming Avenue exit ramp. A preliminary investigation found the man’s vehicle had been traveling south on the Lodge Freeway when he failed to negotiate the curve at Wyoming Avenue. He proceeded straight into the exit ramp, jumping the curb and crossing the berm, police said. The vehicle’s excessive speed launched it across the berm and over the entrance ramp, crashing into the berm on the other side.

DETROIT – Two people were shot on southbound M-10 and Linwood Saturday around 2:40 a.m. after attending a Detroit party, police say. When officers arrived to the area after a traffic crash was reported they found a vehicle with several bullet holes. Police later discovered both the victims had checked into Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. According to police after the party the two victims were driving in the area when an unknown car pulled up and someone inside started shooting at them. The victims lost control of their vehicle and struck the wall.

Detroit – Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that happened on the Southfield Freeway near McNichols Road on Saturday at 4 a.m. Troopers were dispatched to northbound M-10 and Evergreen Road after a woman reported being shot at. Weekend road repairs will close lanes on I-94 between Detroit and New Haven. Eastbound I-94 will be closed between Gratiot Avenue in Detroit and I-696 for weekend road repairs. During the closure, the detour for I-94 follows northbound Gratiot Avenue to eastbound I-696 and then back to eastbound I-94. MDOT says Eastbound I-94 will also close multiple lanes from Little Mack Avenue to 14 Mile Road for resurfacing. Only one lane will be open on eastbound I-94 between 21 Mile Road and New Haven Road from 4 a.m. Saturday to 5:30 p.m. Sunday for road maintenance, MDOT says.

DETROIT – Michigan State Police troopers found a loaded AR-15 in a man’s vehicle after he drove off from a traffic stop. It happened on the John C. Lodge Freeway, near Livernois Avenue, on Detroit’s west side Friday night. Police said they saw a man driving up a closed freeway ramp at about 11:30 p.m. and when they attempted to pull him over, the man drove back onto the Lodge. According to authorities, there was a low-speed chase that ended quickly when the man got stuck in traffic. A loaded AR-15 was found in the vehicle’s trunk.

DETROIT – A project to repair retaining walls on M-10 (Lodge Freeway) in Detroit begin today -- and it’ll mean closures on service drives and eventually the freeway itself. The northbound M-10 service drive from Sorrento Avenue to Outer Drive will be closed first, followed by the southbound M-10 service drive closure from Hartwell Avenue to Thatcher Avenue for pavement removal. The northbound M-10 service drive will be detoured to northbound Meyers Road, then westbound 7 Mile Road back to the northbound M-10 service drive. The southbound M-10 service drive will be detoured to southbound Schaefer Highway, then eastbound McNichols Road back to the southbound M-10 service drive. Northbound M-10 will be detoured via eastbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) to northbound I-75, then westbound M-102 (8 Mile Road).
