The crash happened about 5:30 a.m. on eastbound I-696 in Farmington Hills. The vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck the bridge. The interstate was shut down at M-5 in Farmington Hills. State police said they are still investigating the cause of the crash and working to identify the victim.

The victim was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills where he was pronounced dead. The victim was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on M-5. FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Michigan State Police closed southbound I-275 at the M-5/I-96/I-696 interchange for a deadly crash investigation on Tuesday morning. State police said a man believed to be in his 50s was struck by another car, a Chrysler 300. State police originally said the man was outside of his vehicle because he was changing a tire. The driver of the Chrysler 300, a man believed to be in his 30s, was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
