Michigan State Police say at about 9:50 p.m. four teenage males from Manistee County were driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on River Road in Manistee Township when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road. Police say when they arrived at the scene, one passenger was still stuck inside the vehicle and had to be removed. All four occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Police believe that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.

A Michigan woman who was seen making erratic movements in the parking lot of a business was arrested for possessing methamphetamine, according to state police. Amanda Lee Miehlke, 37, of Copemish, was seen around 5 p.m. July 3 acting unusually and making erratic movements in the parking lot of an Onekama business, officials said. MSP troopers followed her and noticed the car making dangerous movements on the road, according to officials. Miehlke was pulled over and gave police permission to search her car, MSP said. The substance was sent to the MSP Crime Lab and tested positive for meth, authorities said.

Police said the girlfriend told troopers that she lives with her boyfriend, identified as Jackson Charles Mackey, 39, on Russell Street in Bear Lake. She said he came home on Dec. 14, went to the bedroom and stabbed a dog. When he came out of the bedroom, she told police she asked him to leave and he assaulted her. Police said Mackey took the dog and fled in a van.
