The broken hydrant has been streaming water down McGraw Avenue near Linwood Street for several weeks. The city was only made aware of the issue this week.

DETROIT – A father in Detroit was seriously injured and requires several surgeries after a speeding car struck his vehicle. The family said the collision happened at the intersection of McGraw Avenue and Tarnow Street. They said he was sitting in his car and was about to get something to eat when the people speed racing lost control. “He was going to Detroit to actually take a part to his friend’s house, so he can fix his car. He stopped for some food,” said Ariel Resto Jr.Resto said the crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

DETROIT – Police found a man who had been injured in a hit-and-run crash lying in the middle of the road on Detroit’s west side. Officers said the 45-year-old man was found around 5:30 a.m. Monday in the 5500 block of Proctor Street, near Cecil Avenue an I-94. Investigators determined he had been the victim of a hit-and-run crash. The driver was seen leaving the area in a gray Chevrolet Silverado, according to authorities. The Silverado was last seen heading north on McGraw Avenue and west on Central Avenue.
