DETROIT – The battle over the minimum wage heated up Friday. A Fight for $15 rally took place at a McDonald’s near the intersection of Livernois Avenue and West McNichols Road on Detroit’s west side. They want the minimum wage to increase to $15 an hour. Demonstrators want the incoming Joe Biden administration to raise the federal minimum wage within Biden’s first 100 days of taking office. The federal minimum wage hasn’t been raised since July 2009.

Detroit – Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting that happened on the Southfield Freeway near McNichols Road on Saturday at 4 a.m. Troopers were dispatched to northbound M-10 and Evergreen Road after a woman reported being shot at. The driver told police his car was shot multiple times by someone in a Maserati somewhere between McNichols and Eight Mile roads. HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Police are still looking for a gunman wanted in the deadly shooting of a 39-year-old man outside of a Highland Park Coney Island restaurant that occurred in August. “Me and my family have a $10,000 reward,” said the victim’s mother, Deanna Hill. Highland Park police weren’t able to comment on the investigation. It’s unclear why the gunman was with Hill when they got to Highland Park that night in August. DETROIT A local mother is speaking for the first time since a 12-year-old was jumped at McNichols Road and Bradford Avenue on Detroits east side. On Monday, these little girls, high school kids, running up on little bitty middle school kids, wanting to fight them, a local mother said. On Monday, my daughter and her friends were at the park, these little high school girls, they didnt know them. They got mad because one of the little girls said they look like a man, the mother said. DETROIT – A car hit a patch of ice on the Southfield Freeway exit ramp at McNichols Road and crashed through a garage, officials said. A man and a woman were inside the car, which was heading south on the Southfield Freeway, police said. When the car was getting off at the McNichols exit, it hit a patch of ice and went off the roadway, according to authorities. The car crashed through a fence, a garage and another fence before coming to rest in a yard, police said. Officials said the man and woman from inside the car are getting checked out, but they don’t appear to have any serious injuries.

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. - Wild video shows a gunman standing through a truck's sunroof to fire shots during a road rage incident in Highland Park. Police said it happened Friday at 3 a.m. in a strip club parking lot in the area of Woodward Avenue and McNichols Road. Police are still trying to figure out if anyone was injured. A Land Rover and a pickup truck were going north on Woodward Avenue when the Land Rover pulled into the strip club parking lot and the pickup followed. The gunman opened fire before the vehicle sped off.
