With Memorial Day kicking off the unofficial start to summer, we want to know - is this summer going to look different than last year? All things warm-weather-related are what we are chatting about today on 'What's the Buzz. '

It looks like the snow might be gone for good, which means it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning. Often the biggest question about spring cleaning is where to start. For Crocker, cleaning out the closet is the best place to start, since clearing out space means she’ll get to revamp her wardrobe for the season. Cleaning out space in the spring also means making room for new tech. Hall said that for him the change in season means a new bike and new stuff for the car.

AdFinally, do you watch the award shows? Hearn says she turns on the award shows to see the fashion. Now Russell, as a movie reviewer, Greg does follow the award shows and says sometimes they get it right, and other times not so much. He noted that often, whatever gets named in the first award show often gets mentions in all the following award shows, and that is not always for the best. So why do you watch award shows?

There’s no denying this year is going to be a different big game experience than ever before. Everyone has big opinions on the best food to serve at game day parties. Every year the big game reignites the same old argument- should boneless wings be considered wings? This year of course there are concerns about game day parties being a super-spreader event, so will you be inviting anyone over? This is all about holiday decorations, so they started by discussing lights on the house. Blaine says his wife Colleen handles the decorations and while they do decorate the shrubs, they don’t give DTE a Merry Christmas. Besides some cool handmade vases and a Christmas tree, Vanessa likes to keep her decorations simple. She wants to decorate where her family can see and celebrate it so she is focusing her efforts on the inside. Melanie says she feels like people with white Christmas trees are the same as those who tell people you can’t sit in their living room.

Grab a burger and some French fries, What’s the Buzz is all about fast food because it is National Fast Food Day! First up, does fast food get a bad rap? Both Blaine and Melanie like fast food for the unhealthy guilty pleasure that it is. Are there too many fast food options? Now many chains are offer meat substitutes so vegetarians and vegans can enjoy some fast food as well.

With the number of COVID cases on the rise, many people are trying to figure out how they want to celebrate Halloween this year. So the first topic: How are you going to celebrate this year? Lauren said she is going to do socially-distant trick-or-treating with the help of a candy chute. Her husband Michael is building the chute so they can safely send candy down to the kiddos. Jason’s recommendation is to turn off all the lights and stay away from the windows so people know you’re not participating.

October is National Pizza Month! You may want to try some new toppings or order from your favorite pizzeria. Comedian Mike Bonner, Lauren Crocker from the Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 FM WDVD, and comedian Melanie Hearn chatted with host Jason Carr about the great pizza debates: Does pineapple belong on Pizza?
