As part of the investigation police visited the apartment shared by the victim and his girlfriend in the 430 block of Gale in Melvindale. Her father was charged with tampering with evidence, accessory after the fact, felon in possession of a firearm and three counts of felony firearm.

MELVINDALE, Mich. – Police are investigating after a stolen truck with a snow plow on it was used to break into a Mobil gas station near Oakwood and Schaefer in Melvindale. MELVINDALE, Mich. – Dearborn firefighters who work inside Firehouse No. 5 in Melvindale had to sleep in their trucks last night after testing inside the firehouse revealed high levels of black mold, making it unsafe to breathe inside. UPDATE: Dearborn firefighters will move back into Fire Station No. Dearborn Firefighter’s Union head Jeffrey Lentz said the firefighter could not get rest in a truck all night, creating a safety hazard for them. Melvindale resident sentenced for defrauding Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency
WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. - A Melvindale resident was sentenced Thursday to 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft in connection with an unemployment compensation scheme, United States Attorney Matthew Schneider announced Friday. Once Constantine falsely applied for the benefits, he would receive a prepaid debit card charged with unemployment insurance benefit funds and use them for his personal benefit. Constantine submitted 63 false claims that resulted in a loss to the agency of $188,946. Unemployment insurance is designed to provide benefits for employees who need money while they are out of work, Schneider said. People who abuse the system will pay the consequences.The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jihan Williams.
