There’s one charity that’s picking up “Truckloads of Hope,” and helping those in the community. All 38 Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are collecting donations of toiletries, socks, underwear, sheets, blankets, and hand sanitizer for their “Truckloads of Hope” event. Capuchin Soup Kitchen collects these types of donations for their Shower Programs, which assist those who have inadequate shelter. The Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers’ “Truckloads of Hope” will be collecting donations until March 31.

For the last month, Detroit Free Press has raised money to pay restaurants like Folk Detroit, $20 per meal donated -- as part of their Top 10 Cares program. Aimie Rosner is the Marketing and Events Director at the Detroit Free Press. We’ve, we’ve paid ourselves -- we pay our bills. The Whitmer Administration plans to implement another liquor buyback program for restaurants and bars and partner with Michigan restaurants to allow SNAP benefits for prepared meals.
